The Linear Fluted
/ Monochromatic European Modern Kitchen
For this Vancouver residence, we designed a space that celebrates the "Quiet Luxury" of a monochromatic palette. By finishing the entire kitchen—including the perimeter cabinetry and the large central island—in a matching matte white lacquer, we created a seamless visual flow that expands the sense of space. The design's character is found in its architectural textures: custom vertical fluted paneling on the upper cabinetry adds a sophisticated, rhythmic layer that prevents the all-white environment from feeling flat.
This project is defined by its clean, uninterrupted silhouette. We utilized integrated finger-pull edges to eliminate the need for traditional hardware, ensuring the focus remains entirely on the cabinetry's form and texture. The countertops and full-height backsplash feature a bright, subtly veined quartz that bridges the textured and smooth surfaces. The result is a high-performance, minimalist environment that feels surgically precise yet light and airy.
Inside, the experience is just as refined; we utilized Blum soft-close systems to ensure the kitchen functions with the same quiet precision it displays visually. Precision-integrated LED channels are recessed under the upper cabinetry and within the architectural shadow lines to provide a seamless warm glow. With a dedicated coffee station niche and hidden storage solutions, the space remains completely uncluttered, allowing the linear fluted detailing to take center stage.
