Urban Warmth /
Walnut & Grey Vertical-Groove Kitchen
This Vancouver kitchen centers on the interplay between cool urban tones and the organic warmth of natural wood—designed for a home where the kitchen is the room people naturally drift toward. We anchored the space with soft-grey vertical-groove cabinetry, providing a subtle architectural texture that shifts with the light throughout the day.
To prevent the grey from feeling cold, we introduced solid walnut through open shelving and a custom-built range hood with a striking chevron grain, creating a focal point that feels both modern and inviting. The bronze-framed glass uppers act as a curated gallery for the home’s favorite objects, illuminated by integrated LEDs to maintain an airy atmosphere. For the surfaces, we selected bright white quartz for the countertops and carried it vertically into a full-height backsplash to create a single, clean visual plane.
Inside, the experience is just as refined; we utilized Blum soft-close systems to ensure the kitchen functions with the same quiet precision it displays visually. Precision-integrated LED channels are recessed into the shelving to provide a seamless warm glow without visible fixtures. With integrated appliances and minimalist hardware, the space remains streamlined, allowing the conversation between the timber and stone tones to take center stage.
